Medical Doctor Dies After Watching Nigeria and Argentina Match


Dr Kennis Ebirim, a family physician with the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, has been confirmed dead after watching Tuesday’s 2018 World Cup match between Nigeria and Argentina.

According to the reports by Punch the deceased was reported to have slumped and rushed to hospital after Nigeria crashed out of the world football tournament.

Dr Chikere Ebirim, a lecturer in the Department of Public Health, Federal University of Technology, Owerri,  and younger brother to the deceased, expressed shock over the development.
He said: “We were together on Sunday with my dad. He used to have cases of heart attack but he was also on medication.
“This is so shocking because he was sound in health when he left Owerri on Monday morning for Abakaliki where he works.”

Why I left Nigeria – Nnamdi Kanu

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed not to return to the Federal High Court in Abuja where he was standing trial before he left the country. The Federal Government had charged him with treason but Justice Binta Nyako granted him bail after 18 months in detention. Kanu had flouted all the terms of the bail before the military invaded his Abia residence on September 14, 2017. He fled afterwards and resurfaced in Jerusalem on Friday. In a broadcast via  Radio Biafra , Kanu boasted that the Nigerian court lacked the capacity to try him.
