Former Minister Of Finance Nigeria, Ngozi-Okonjo Iweala Appointed Into Twitter's Board



Mrs Okonjo-Iweala, who served in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, as a Minister of Finance was appointed recently alongside Robert Zoellick as new independent directors with immediate effect, Twitter said Thursday.

Co-founder and CEO of twitter, Jack Dorsey, announced her appointment on Twitter.
He said Ngozi iweala would be an incredible asset for the company as it strives toward transparency in its global operations
In her response to this, she tweeted on her official handle, @NOIweala, the former minister expressed words of appreciation to the company for the appointment.
“Excited to work with @Jack and an incredible team on the Board of Twitter, a global platform that is such a strong connector of people and ideas,” her tweet read.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed not to return to the Federal High Court in Abuja where he was standing trial before he left the country. The Federal Government had charged him with treason but Justice Binta Nyako granted him bail after 18 months in detention. Kanu had flouted all the terms of the bail before the military invaded his Abia residence on September 14, 2017. He fled afterwards and resurfaced in Jerusalem on Friday. In a broadcast via  Radio Biafra , Kanu boasted that the Nigerian court lacked the capacity to try him.
